Installments - Within 10-days

By default, when you create an installment, there is 10-day delay between the initial payment and the first scheduled payment.

EXPLANATION OF THE DELAY

When an installment is configured with an initial payment at the time of purchase OR a specified date, the platform automatically imposes a delay of 10-days between the initial payment and the first scheduled payment. This prevents a customer from being forced to make the initial payment and the first installment in a very short period.

RESULT OF THE DELAY

The first installment that is set at a date too close to the date of purchase will not take place and will therefore be postponed to the date of the next installment in the configuration.

EXAMPLE #1:

CONFIGURATION: Initial payment: Time of purchase
1st installment at fixe date: October 1st
2nd installment at fixe date: November 1st

PURCHASE DATE: September 30th

In this example, the 10-days WAS APPLIED, so the number of payments would adjust to one installment only. Planned as follows:

                                 September 30th                Initial payment
  November 1st First installment

NO installment will take place on October 1st since the 10-days imposed was applied.

EXAMPLE #2:

CONFIGURATION:    Initial payment:                   Time of purchase
1st installment at fixe date: October 1st

PURCHASE DATE: September 30th

In this example, the 10-day delay WILL BE APPLIED, so the number of payments will not adjust, as follows:

September 30th                        Total amount will be required

NO installment would be expected given that the 10-day delay will be applied.

TURN OFF WITHIN 10-DAYS DELAY

It is possible to disable the 10-day default setting. To do this:

FOR AN EXISTING CONFIGURATION:

  • ACCOUNT < INSTALLMENT tab
  • Click on VIEW

Remember to click on  after the change is made.

Continue for all desired payments.

NOTE:

Modification of existing payments applies only to future purchases by customers, existing payments will not be affected by this change.

FOR A NEW CONFIGURATION :

  • The option is available when creating the configuration
  • Select option so that the 10-day period WILL NOT applied

NOTE:

By disabling the 10-days default, the 1st scheduled payment will always occur regardless of when the purchase takes place.

EXAMPLE #1:

CONFIGURATION: Initial payment: Time of purchase
1st installment at fixe date: October 1st
2nd installment at fixe date: November 1st

PURCHASE DATE: September 30th

In this example the 10 days is NOT APPLIED, so this configuration will be applied:

                                     September 30th                     Initial payment
  October 1st First installment
  November 1st Second installment

Even if the purchase takes place on September 30th, the first payment will remain scheduled for October 1st and second payment on November 1st.

EXAMPLE #2:

CONFIGURATION: Initial payment: Time of purchase
1 installment at fixe date: October 1st

PURCHASE DATE: September 30th

In this example the 10 days is NOT APPLIED, so this configuration will be applied:

                                     September 30th                     Initial payment
  October 1st First installment

Even if the purchase takes place on September 30th, the first installment will still be scheduled on October 1st.
