Verify and Correct Information for RL-24 - Step 5

 

IMPORTANT:

This is the last time you will be able to make changes before generating the RL-24s. And this is the only step that allows you to verify the number of days and the amounts that will appear on the statements.

If you use an Excel document will be generated. All accounts will appear, facilitating the verification of the information.

 

SEARCH

In order to find an account, you can search by:

  • Social Insurance Number
  • Parent name that will appear on the statement
  • Name of the child

The number of unsubscriptions will be displayed.

Show INVALID RL-24s

By putting a check mark in this box, you will get a view of all statements that have been detected as INVALID by the system. Their number will be indicated.

These statements will not be generated if you do not make the necessary changes to make them valid.

If you use  an Excel document will be generated. Only INVALID accounts will appear, making it easier to validate the information.

TIP: Use the EXCEL file to verify the clients accounts and determine what changes to make. Then make the corrections in this step or in the client's accounts.

MODIFICATIONS TO DO

If some RL-24s have been detected INVALID, they will appear in RED.

By placing your mouse on the box in question, you will see the error message. It is necessary to make the required modification, because the RL-24 will not be produced if a box is not corrected.

Simply click on the box to make the required changes, then 

All boxes are editable, even those that are not in red.

DO NOT SEND CERTAIN RL-24

The STATUS column is checked by default at Send

If you do not want a statement to be sent to Revenu Quebec, click on Send to change the Status to Don't send

CHANGE THE ELIGIBLE AMOUNT

You can also change the total amount eligible for the RL-24 statement at this stage, regardless of what is reported in the client's account. Simply click in the box and enter the desired amount manually.

When all changes are made, click 

You will arrive at the step of verifying the coordinates of the organization, the last step before the generation of the statements 24.

GENERATE AND SEND STATEMENTS

Confirm your information

Check your organization's information that will appear on the RL-24. If changes are necessary, they must be done under ACCOUNT > MAIN INFORMATION. Then go back to step 5 and the changes will appear.

Type of organization

First choose the type of your organization and, depending on the chosen type, you will be asked for more information. They are specific to each type. You should find these information in the correspondence you have with Revenu Québec.

 ESTABLISHMENT (CPE)

Institution Number

As the text indicates, this number has a maximum of 8 characters and is alphanumeric. You should be able to find this number on your correspondence with Revenu Quebec.

Last Name

This field will be filled in by default according to the information found under Account > Main Information. However, it can be changed on this screen. Since there is a maximum number of characters, your name may not be written in full. In this case, make the modification here.

SCHOOL

School Code

As the text indicates, this number has a maximum of 6 characters and is alphanumeric. You should be able to find this number on your correspondence with Revenu Quebec.

Last Name

This field will be filled in by default, according to the information found under Account > Main Information. However, it can be changed on this screen. Since there is a maximum number of characters, your name may not be written in full. In this case, make the modification here.

PERSON (home childcare)

SIN (Social Insurance Number)

Provide the social insurance number of the person responsible for the daycare.

NEQ

Enter the Quebec Business Number (NEQ) which consists of 10 numeric characters. You should be able to find this number on your correspondence with Revenu Quebec.

First name

Indicate the first name of the person in charge of the daycare.

Last Name

Provide the last name of the person responsible for the daycare.

SOCIAL ORGANIZATION (other)

 

NEQ

Enter the Québec Business Number (NEQ), which consists of 10 numeric characters. You should be able to find this number on your correspondence with Revenu Québec.

This field will be filled in by default according to the information found under Account > Main information. However, it can be changed on this screen. Since there is a maximum number of characters, your name may not be written in full. In this case, make the modification here.

Identification number

As the text indicates, the identification number contains 10 numeric characters. You should be able to find this number on your correspondence with Revenu Quebec.

File Number

As the text indicates, the folder number contains 4 numeric characters. You should be able to find this number on your correspondence with Revenu Quebec.

 

GENERATING THE RL-24s

Generating the statements may take several hours, depending on the volume. As soon as the process is completed, they will be automatically forwarded to Revenu Quebec.

ADVICE :

Make sure your organization's information are accurate. Review all the parameters necessary for Revenu Quebec to be able to process all tax credit files correctly. Any erroneous information will cause delays. You have till February 28th to have your RL-24 validated by Revenu Quebec.
