Address Verification Service (AVS)

Clients must have a specified billing address when paying with their credit card online.

The Address Verification Service, or AVS, is one of the most widely used fraud prevention tools in card-not-present (CNP) transactions. An AVS check compares the billing address used in the transaction with the issuing bank's address information for the cardholder.

A full AVS match greatly increases the acceptance rate of any transaction with virtually all credit card service providers by adding to the other components of fraud prevention already used with online transactions.

Why does AVS matter?

By increasing the reliability of online transactions, you ensure a better client experience by reducing refused payments, increasing the convenience of online transactions, and complying with the most current security measures recommended by payment processors.

How does AVS work with Amilia?

Clients can sometimes use different billing addresses, and by providing additional options during checkout, we ensure that the default home address is not switched by mistake with the billing address, a common issue that can cause online payments to be rejected. When combined with the ability to securely save your credit card online for future or recurring purchases, customer convenience and transaction speed is greatly increased.
